Berries do wonders for your skin, and they taste good too! Generally the bright colored ones have the best health benefits. Blueberries and strawberries are some of the best fruits because they contain antioxidants. Antioxidants are known to help fight oxidation in DNA (free-radical damage) which will help with anti-aging and prevent cancer.

 

Bell peppers are another great food for healthy skin because they are high in vitamin c. Vitamin C has been proven to help stimulate the production of collagen. It also suppresses melanin production therefore it helps to prevent hyperpigmentation; it even helps to apply it topically.

Vegetables are some of the best foods for healthy skin. Veggies such as carrots and dark greens like spinach are packed with anti-aging benefits. They contain omega-3s , which provides additional protection from UV rays. Omega 3s contain something called EPA, eicosapentaenoic acid. According to the Journal of Lipid Research, “EPA can help block the release of the UV-induced enzymes that eat away at our collagen, causing lines and sagging skin. Because EPA is both an antioxidant and an anti-inflammatory agent, it can protect against sun damage and help repair it.”

Salmon is another tasty source of omega-3 fatty acids. This healthy fat not only promotes healthy skin, but it also protects against diseases such as diabetes and heart disease. The American Heart Association recommends consuming at least two servings per week of something high in omega-3 fatty acids.

 

Nuts and seeds. Certain nuts and seeds have shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. That is, skin clearing benefits for those who suffer with acne. Almonds and sunflower seeds are rich in vitamin E. Vitamin E is so good for your skin because it helps to keep the skin hydrated as well as eliminate toxins.
