Did you know that cellulite plagues about 90 percent of women? If you do not have it, then you probably know someone that does, and have heard them complain about their “cottage cheese thighs”. Cellulite is a condition that gives the skin a lumpy appearance. It usually occurs in the hips, thighs, and buttocks. It is embarrassing, but there are things you can do to help reduce cellulite. Cellulite treatment with coffee and extra virgin olive oil is a great and inexpensive treatment in reducing cellulite.
If you make your coffee at home then this cellulite treatment will be great for you! All you will need is the leftover coffee grounds that we usually throw away. Take that and put it inside a bowl, mixing it with some extra virgin olive oil. Then apply to the affected area. Really rub it in. Then rinse it off. It’s best to do this inside the shower but before you begin your shower since it will be a little messy.
The caffeine in coffee is the main reason using the coffee grounds makes for a good cellulite treatment. According to Dr. Ava Shamban, an assistant professor of dermatology at UCLA, “Caffeine, the active ingredient in many cellulite creams, works to tighten blood vessels. There have not been any reports showing that caffeine is successful in cellulite reduction. But we are seeing this is a very big trend in creams. So some products may list "caffeine" or "coffee" but remember that "caffeine" can be derived from black and green teas as well -- so make sure to read the label carefully.”
The extra virgin olive oil will help to smooth the skin and bind the coffee grounds together. Watch the video below to see how to make a cellulite treatment with coffee and extra virgin olive oil. Give it a try and let us know how it worked for you!
