On January 3, 2014, competitive eater Molly Schuyler took on a steak challenge at Sayler's Old Country Kitchen in Portland and devoured a 72oz beef steak in less than three minutes. And guess what, she even had room for fries after that monstrous piece of meat.
She broke the previous Guinness World Record which was 6 minutes and 48 seconds, set by Peter Czerwinski (Furious Pete).
The record-breaking steak massacre was recorded by the Big Eater's Club. It was also part of the restaurant's challenge to finish the steak within an hour, but Molly finished it much earlier than that.
Molly, who’s no stranger to the sport of competitive eating, also finished a 12-pound sandwich during her recent tour of the Pacific Northwest.
In an interview, Molly said that she's only been into professional competitive eating for the past year, but she still remembers ‘battling it out’ with her sibling over buffets.
"It's an unexplained phenomenon; I was just born that way," she told KPTV. "I started doing this about a year ago, and I guess it's like a stupid human trick."
Here’s the video of Molly eating a 72 oz beef steak in under three minutes.
The way this huge chunk gets consumed by Molly will give you nightmares for days, possibly months.
