As you have probably already heard, honey is really good for you. It has many medicinal purposes such as treating a sore throat and cough, helps with allergies, boosts the immune system, reduces muscle fatigue, and best of all it tastes so good! Not only does honey contain internal health benefits but it contains many external health benefits as well and is often used in cosmetics for aesthetic purposes. Below are some ways to use honey in your beauty regimen at home.
Treating Acne
Honey can be used as an acne treatment and has been used for skin ailments for thousands of years. It has been known to be highly effective in preventing acne due to its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and antimicrobial properties. However, like with any other acne treatment, it will not work for everyone. Some people have allergies to one or more of the components found in honey so find out if you are allergic before trying any honey treatment
Apply unprocessed, raw honey alone for a mask, leave on for 15-30 minutes. Can be used daily. For an exfoliating scrub, add sea salt to the honey and apply to face. Leave on for 15-30 minutes. Do 1-2 times a week.
(Unprocessed, raw honey is the best for beauty treatments because it stil contains all the natural properties such as propolis, enzymes, pollen, honeycomb, etc. that are fundamental in providing results in whatever reason you are using it for. )

Natural Hair Treatment
Honey is great for treating your hair because it adds moisture to it, prevents breakage, and helps it grow. One treatment you can do yourself at home is to mix a tablespoon of honey with some extra-virgin olive oil and leave it on your locks for 30-60 minutes. You can also add a teaspoon of cinnamon if you like. This will leave your hair looking long, strong, and shiny.
Honey is also anatural hairlightener and is great for those of us who do not want to put more processed chemicals onto our bodies. To make a DIY (do it yourself) natural hair lightener at home watch the video below:
