Writer, speaker and activist Jenn Levya is vocally anti marriage.
Well, she is vocal about a lot of things, including looks and gender stereotypes but she really feels for marriage, which in her own words is "this unquestioned goal that we're supposed to be working towards."
So, tired of congratulatory messages of weddings and anniversaries and people in relationships on Facebook, she started posting congratulatory posts for her single friends.

This is just an example of what she’s doing online. She has sent messages to other friends as well because she feels it is very important to do so.
“I’m sick of how our culture mandates relationships. How we only celebrate each other when we get engaged and married and have babies. I think it feeds into a heteronormative, capitalist vision of “family” that is demonstrably damaging to anyone who doesn’t assimilate. It’s also just annoying as fuck to logon to facebook and see a stream of vapid posts on weddings, engagements, and anniversaries. I’m glad y’all are happy, but I’m on facebook to stalk high school friends I don’t actually care about…”shesays and we sort of agree!
Well, she does love to disagree with what the norms in our society seem to be. She has some reservations regarding the way things are in our world, especially in terms of body image and relationships. Well, she feels strongly about something she’s doing something about it!
