Easter Rocket Battle? That's What These Greek Churches Do.

by
A 120-year old tradition produces a brilliant blaze every year in the Greek village of Vrontados every Easter.

Members of two Orthodox churches, Agios Markos and Panagia Erithiani, celebrate their friendly rivalry by assembling homemade rockets and firing at the opposition, with the goal of ringing the other church's bell tower. The celebration is called Rouketopolemous, and it's truly a unique sight to see.
