The specter of jihad coming to a street corner near you seems to haunt right-wingers around the world. None more so, though, than the ones camping out at their favorite news network, aka Fox News.
Fox News was recently rattled by the bearded faces of released Taliban captive Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl and his dad. Commentator Bill O’Reilly wisely noted, “It is Robert Bergdahl, the father, who is also engendering some controversy. He has learned to speak Pashto, the language of the Taliban, and looks like a Muslim. He is also somewhat sympathetic to Islam, actually thanking Allah right in front of the president."

Meanwhile, over at the Heritage Foundation, yet another meeting to discuss the Benghazi controversy was convened attended by a motley crew of "Islamophobes, birthers and conspiracy theorists." The discussion soon descended into routine Muslim bashing.
The conversation revolved around the government infiltration by the Muslim Brotherhood; President Obama’s funding of the jihadi plan to destroy America (yes, really); impose Sharia blasphemy laws and enable Al Jazeera America as an organ of enemy propaganda, topping the list of concerns.
Protests by sole Muslim attendee, Saba Ahmed, an American University law student, that not all 1.8 billion Muslims of the world including the millions living in the U.S. were "bad" and that not one of them was represented at the conference unleashed a fury of taunts.
She was asked questions like, “Are you an America?” and that “180-300 million Muslims are dedicated to the destruction of Western civilization,” followed by a very glib “peaceful majority is irrelevant." The panelist went so far as to say that the attacks of 9/11 were reminiscent of the Nazi agenda.
The rest of the meeting, according to the report, descended into a conspiracy theory fest – fodder for Fox News’ grist!
It's getting difficult when you can’t even choose who drives your taxi; poor Lisa Benson:
This is hardly the first time a Muslim woman has found herself in the rightwing cross hairs. Huma Abedin, aide to former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, was accused of possibly being “part of a nefarious conspiracy [with ties to Muslim Brotherhood] to harm the United States by influencing U.S. foreign policy with her high-level position at the state department.”

But that’s not all. The disappearance of Malaysian flight MH370 was most probably a Muslim conspiracy:
And will end badly:
By which do they mean:
like a certain Anders Breivik?

And then there are those who see patterns in the mosques and Islamic activity across the USA:
Of course, we all know 9/11 and the repercussions of the war on terror are to blame. We also know that tensions escalated when "triumphant" Muslims sought to locate an Islamic Centre close to Ground Zero in New York City – a red flag to a bull if ever there was one. Except that the project had the backing of a Saudi benefactor – an exceedingly suspicious circumstance – who just happened to be a major shareholder of News Corp, Fox News’ parent company. Oh what a tangled web we weave.
And boiled over when a closet Muslim, Barack Hussein Obama, ascended the throne of the U.S. presidency.
