Shoppers in France could soon be able to use their finger to pay for everyday shopping as one supermarket trials the technology.
No more cash or cards to pay for groceries no problem.
A touch of the finger and a biometric reader confirms the customers’ identity, and then debits the amount from their bank account.
Those with security concerns over fingerprint payments needn't worry. The system records the unique patterns of veins underneath a person's index finger - not the fingerprint itself.
The system is currently being trialed there. Similar systems are already in use in Germany and America.
