Gerald Abrahams is a man who knows how to get what he wants. Instead of whining about what he does not have, this dude believes in doing something about it.
Disappointed by dating sites and the other conventional means of finding love this 39-year-old landscaper took to the streets of London with signs that read, “Hot Brunette Wanted for 2014” and “Dates/Romance Must like dogs and landscapers.”
His practical yet quirky approach was much appreciated by people online and has even gotten him a lot of responses.
I love dogs, #waterlooromeo - you've got yourself a date here, when you're ready.— Natasha Prayag (@NatashaTP) January 7, 2014
Spotted the #WaterlooRomeo in Kingston today…Seems like a nice smiley guy. Brave to walk around with a placard… Hope he finds his Miss Right— Hannah B (@HannahB79) January 7, 2014
Abrahams said he wanted to bring a smile to those who saw him
He told the Evening Standard: 'I just needed to do something different for 2014. I’ve had enough of internet dating and thought this would be something light-hearted that people might find amusing and bring a smile to their face.'
His stunt got him popularity enough to be interviewed by a local radio station.
He said, ‘hot’ and ‘brunette’ have always been on his list of desired traits in women.
‘I felt I just needed to do something a bit more imaginative and get out there,’ he added.
He’d been mulling over the idea for a while and finally went ahead with it, ‘You gotta do these things when you think of it otherwise you’ll regret it.’
He is choosy though. ‘My friends say I’m a little bit picky. I just need a brunette,’ he says.
Now here’s a man we can take practicality lessons from.
