You must be aware of the horrible feeling; awake in bed and forcing yourself to fall asleep. Then after sometime, looking at the clock and getting that anxious feeling that if I fall asleep right now I can get a good 5 hours, then it turns to 4 hours, then 3 and so on. Eventually you have a raw next day trying to be attentive when you’re really dog-tired!

We all need proper sleep to be efficient, productive, for concentration and of course to remain attentive! At times you get so sick of your sleep issues that you switch to pills! Trust me it is not a good idea at all – so don’t even think of doing it as you might get into other severe problems other than your disturbed sleep cycle!

Apart from keeping your bedroom dark, quiet and gadget-free, chances are that someone told you some home remedies about how to get to sleep. While we know that things like staying away from caffeine and exercising close to bedtime really helps us sleep but methods like drinking warm milk or having a warm bath does work in many cases.

So, here’s a list of some home remedies that might help you sleep better!

Taking a warm bath about two hours before bedtime is a great way to relax yourself and ease into a good night’s sleep. Apparently the drop in body temperature makes you sleepy. It feels relaxing and indulgent and the other important bit is that the warmth of the bath helps soak out the ache of the day, making you more relaxed for bed.

Drinking a glass of warm milked mixed with honey is one of the oldest yet effective natural home remedies for sleeping disorders as it induces sleep. Also a combination of buttermilk, cinnamon and honey is useful home remedy used to get rid of sleeping ailments.

When someone stays in bed and can't sleep, the bedroom can induce a certain level of anxiety. After trying for 15 or 20 minutes, get out of bed!
