Katie Holmes Signs On To Be Face Of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics

Actress Katie Holmes is the first celebrity to be the face of beauty brand Bobbi Brown Cosmetics.

The company’s namesake and founder confirmed the deal on Thursday, explaining “this all came together eight weeks ago, when Katie and I were introduced by a mutual friend.”

“We had tea in the afternoon, and we bonded,” Brown told WWD. “And then it was, ‘Oh, my God, you would be the perfect face for Bobbi.’

“We weren’t looking for a celebrity, just a cool, amazing woman who would fit with our brand. And she’s just ridiculously, naturally beautiful.”

Holmes, who’s been in the media’s spotlight since her high-profile split from actor Tom Cruise this summer, says she’s excited to work with the 21-year-old brand.

“This is my first foray into beauty products and the evolution of a look,” said Holmes, who shares a fashion line with friend and her former stylist Jeanne Yang.

“You want the hair and makeup to support the woman, just like you want the clothes to support the woman,” the 33-year-old actress told WWD. “You don’t want to lose the woman. That’s how Jeanne and I design.”

As Fashion Week kicks off in New York, Holmes made her first public appearance since she filed for divorce from Cruise, at the 2012 Style Awards, where she presented an award to designer Carolina Herrera.

The beaming actress was stunning in Herrera’s own designs, a polished black button-up blouse and metallic gold skirt.

Holmes will get her own chance to shine next week, as she and Yang present Holmes & Yang’s first fashion week event on Wednesday.

Of course, Brown will be on hand to do the models’ makeup.
