Kim Kardashian’s weight has been the subject of scrutiny since she became famous. Her weight became an even bigger deal (no pun intended) while Kim was pregnant. But now that she has had her baby North West and some time has passed, people are being much kinder to Kim when it comes to the subject of her weight. And Kim is definitely feeling proud to show off her weight loss as she recently posted pictures of her post-baby bod via Instagram.
So how did Kim Kardashian lose weight? “I've actually been doing the Atkins diet & luv it,” Kim tweeted. The Atkins Diet is a low-carb diet that is high in protein. According to webmd.com, “The diet is based on the theory that overweight people eat too many carbohydrates. Our bodies burn both fat and carbohydrates for energy, but carbs are used first. By drastically reducing carbs and eating more protein and fat, our bodies naturally lose weight by burning stored body fat more efficiently.”
A rep for Atkins told US Weekly that Kim kardashian has been doing the Atkins Diet since her doctor approved it in June. Kim Kardashian’s weight dropped pretty quickly once she began the Atkins Diet. Now Kim eats foods such as veggies, nuts, lean meats, low-carbs, avocado, and cheese.
Sadly, Kim Kardashian’s weight is just one example of many women who have been criticized for their fluctuating waist lines. Jessica Simpson has always been under the spotlight for her weight since the beginning of her career as well. Jessica even did the Atkins Diet before and found some short term success with it.
The problem is that if you do a diet the results will be short lived. You have to make it a way of life. Maybe this is something Kim will be able to maintain. Only time will tell.
