Lefties have always made up 10% of the population
Only 10 percent of the population is left handed. That’s not very many at all. Lefties are more likely to have mental disorders
One disadvantage of being a leftie is that they are more likely to be schizophrenic, have ADHD, Crohn's disease, PTSD, and other mental disorders. Therefore lefties are not just different because they write with their left hand; they are different when it comes to their mental health. According to Daniel Casasanto, an assistant professor of psychology at the New School for Social Research in New York, "Handedness influences the way people think and feel, and how thoughts and feelings are organized in their brains.”
Stress in the womb influences left-handedness
In a study conducted by Dr. Norman Geschwind, also known as the Geschwind theory, he discovered that when a pregnant woman undergoes high levels of stress the testosterone rises which leads to different developmental factors in the fetus. Left-handedness is one of them.
