Mark Bustos believes "every human life is worth the same," and every Sunday he proves it.
Mark spends his week working at the high-end New York hair salon Three Squares Studio and on Sundays he sets out to do what he loves, i.e. cutting hair, and does it for free for those people who cannot afford it – the homeless and those on the streets.
For one day a week his customers are not athletes, fashion designers and celebrities but the homeless of New York.
Here he is with some of his customers:
An interesting initiative: A Bus Transforms The Lives Of The Homeless With Dignity
Homelessness is a serious issue in America. According to the 2013 Annual Homeless Assessment Report, “On a single night in January 2013, there were 610,042 people experiencing homelessness in the United States, including 394,698 people who were homeless in sheltered locations and 215,344 people who were living in unsheltered locations.”
A 2014 research shows the number of homeless people in U.S. to have increased to 1,750,000. In such a dire scenario it's people like Mark Bustos who show hope and restore our faith in humanity.
