An animal owner who lost her dog named Patch when he jumped aboard a train has been reunited with her pet, all thanks to the prompt and timely rescue service provided by the social networking of Twitter. Deirdre Anglin was left heartbroken when her pet Jack Russell Patch went missing from home and after all attempts to find him went in vain. But the list of unexpected events was just about to begin.
As soon as she signed in to her twitter account she saw a tweet about a lost dog with a photo attached. To her amazement it was her Patch.

The adventure freak Jack Russell had jumped on a commuter train from rural Kilcock to Dublin 30 kilometers away. Irish Rail sent a ‘Lost dog’ tweet with a photo attachment after Patch arrived at Dublin station without an owner. The message was then retweeted 500 times in 32 minutes until it was spotted by Miss Anglin who then quickly replied to Irish Rail, ‘that’s my dog’.
Miss Anglin in her tweet thanked everyone who was involved in the recovery of Patch. Maybe she should also make some tweets appreciating the role of Twitter in the entire process.
