Ramadan, the month of fasting that marks the holy month of Muslims who are expected to fast and practice abstinence from dawn until sunset, has begun.
Many devout Muslims around the world kept their first fast of the month-long fasting on Wednesday. Celebration, prayers, patience and fraternity with lots of colorful and delicious food was observed as Muslims welcomed Ramadan.
The start of Ramadan changes every year. It falls on the day of the sighting of the crescent moon, at the start of the lunar month.
