Beauty treatments are often inspired by the current season and the holidays that occur during that time. During the fall and especially around Halloween people are inspired to do themed beauty treatments that really help to make it feel more like the fall season. Below are some ways to use pumpkin in your beauty routines that will keep you looking your best and help you get into the holiday spirit.

Pumpkin enzymes

Pumpkin enzyme exfoliators are amazing and they smell delicious! They are good for removing dead skin cells. They can be used on any skin type; however they benefit normal to oily skin the best and are good for fighting acne prone skin.  It is applied like a mask, and then leave on for 5-10 minutes (with steam for best results), then remove with a warm cloth.

Pumpkin pie body scrub

Just because summer is over does not mean your skin has to stop having a healthy glow. You can purchase a pumpkin body scrub or do it yourself at home! All you need is brown sugar, cinnamon, cooked or canned pumpkin, and a bowl. You can determine how much you need by how much you want to use. Mix the ingredients together and gently rub on, then rinse off well.

Pumpkin seed oil

Hydrate your skin with pumpkin seed oil. This oil contains skin enhancing nutrients such as vitamin E, fatty acids, polyunsaturated fats, and is high in zinc and protein. Cucurbita pepo is another name for pumpkin seed oil. This oil is beneficial for all skin types, helps decrease superficial dryness and moisture loss.  It also has anti-aging benefits because it helps prevent fine lines.

Pumpkin pie facial mask

If you go online there are hundreds of different ways to make a pumpkin facial mask. The best thing to do is assess what kind of skin type you have and look for one that suits your needs best. Pumpkin pie facial masks are helpful in clearing up blemished skin and providing hydration to the epidermis. Most of all they are fun to make and can be a nice thing to do with friends. Note that if you make the mask yourself do not save it and use it later because it goes bad very quickly.
