Skydiving Experiment Gone Bad

The musical track played in the background might sound quite lively, but nothing can be far from truth. The video is nothing less than a nightmare for many. At least for the 80-year-old grandma Laverne this was definitely the scariest birthday presents ever.

The adrenaline junkie refused to get out of the plane and was left hanging precariously from her instructor as the tandem dive and her desire of experimenting a skydive once in her life went terribly wrong. The tandem driver however, grasps her tightly as they plummet towards the ground at a speed of 125mph.

The video which was published on thechive.com shows that instead of being strapped together, the two jumpers’ legs are both pointing in opposite directions.

At the end of the video Laverne is shown to have safely landed on the ground, but is being given some careful attention. Even the instructor is traumatized and is being consoled by a fellow colleague. Incidents like these have taken place in the past where skydivers are reluctant to jump at the precise moment.

As compared to previous situations which ended with fatal results, Laverne is lucky enough to have survived following a close encounter with death.
