Bread Pudding:

2 cups whole milk

1/4 cup butter

2/3 cup brown sugar

3 eggs

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 cups bread, torn into small pieces

1/2 cup raisins


Directions:

Boil milk and add butter, stirring until it melts. Cool to lukewarm and then add sugar, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer at medium speed for 1 minute. Slowly add the milk mixture.

Place bread in a lightly greased oven prove dish, sprinkle with raisins and pour batter on top.

Finally, Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 to 50 minutes or until set. For best taste, serve warm.

Rice pudding is probably the only pudding made in all the continents with an amazing amount of variations. It is called rice pudding in the English speaking world, kheer in Urdu and Hindi, Bubur Sumsum in Indonesian, Dudhapak in Gujarati, Riz bi haleeb or ruz bil-laban in Arabic,  Shir-berenj and Shola-e-zard in the Central Asian region, Budino di Riso, Italian and Riz au lait in French. And these are just a handful of names.

So, if any dessert, this should be the top most during the celebrations of Eid!
