The little baby face foundation is a non-profit organization that allows bullied kids to get free plastic surgery. In an interview with Dr. Sanjay Gupta a young girl named Nadia is interviewed over her experience with bullying which began in the first grade. People were teasing her about her ears, calling her dumbo and it has had serious effects on her self-esteem and social interactions. Nadia has asked her mother to get plastic surgery to pin her ears back.
The little baby face foundation flew Nadia and her mother from Georgia to New York City so that she could get plastic surgery for and all-expense paid trip to pin back her ears. Dr. Sanjay Gupta asked Nadia what she says to people who tell her she does not need plastic surgery and that people should love her for who she is. “It’s true, but it will just keep getting worse and worse,” Nadia responded.
Bullying is a serious issue for children and teens but is getting plastic surgery really the right way to go for these children? The problem lies with the children doing the bullying yet the ones getting bullied are the ones that are not only undergoing emotional pain, but now physical pain in order to “correct” the problem.
Do you think it’s a good idea for bullied kids to get free plastic surgery from organizations like The Little Baby Face Foundation? Or is it circumstantial? Does it depend on what the child is being bullied for should determine if they should get surgery? Comment below and let us know what you think.
