Bloating is any abnormal swelling in, or increase in diameter of the abdominal area. There are a few different reasons people become bloated. In this video uploaded to YouTube by beauty guru Michelle Phan, she teaches viewers how to reduce bloating symptoms and prevent bloating from happening in the first place.
Bloating can happen from eating food with ingredients that is difficult for your stomach to digest, over eating, not drinking enough water, carbonated drinks, or menstrual cycle.
To reduce bloating symptoms Michelle Phan suggests staying away from foods that are fried and drinks that are carbonated. She also suggests eating on a smaller plate, so you eat less. Plus chewing your food thoroughly will allow time for the signal in your brain to tell your body you are full, so you don’t over eat. They say it takes 20 minutes for your brain to get the signal that you are full.
Some things you can eat and drink that are healthy and help reduce bloating symptoms are: green tea, peppermint tea, whole wheat grain, brown rice, asparagus, quinoa, probiotics, and things with low sodium.
