To some life is incomplete without Facebook while others can’t really find out time for it.
We usually see people uploading different pictures, content and events on Facebook, which they then share with their friends and family. It has become one of the best ways of advertising your events and products as it keeps a lot of people connected together. Though a lot is an understatement for the number of people on Facebook but right now this is not our focus what we really need to know is how odd things can be performed on Facebook.
Wedding pictures, parties, hangouts, invites these are a few common things that we have commonly seen on Facebook, but below mentioned are top 5 odd things that people do on Facebook and have made a point to be discussed upon. The countdown will start from number 5 to number 1.
5. Breaking up on Facebook
Like seriously? Who does that? Or to be more precise, no wise person would do that!
There has been a recent trend of breaking up on Facebook. The relationship status bar has become the indicator of a person being single or committed, not only to your friends but also to your partner, who has recently become your ex and would realize it after the relation status shifting from ‘committed’ to ‘its complicated’ and eventually turning into ‘single’.

People have actually gone through serious break ups socially and have found new partners on the same platform again as well (These people, they seriously know Facebook’s salient features!).
When such break ups are in process some emotional break up statuses are also thrown upon the rest of the friends with an assumption of them being sympathetic or at least empathetic.
Some of the hilarious ones are: A break up is like a broken mirror. It is better to leave it broken than hurt yourself to fix it or People say follow your heart…but which way do you go when your heart breaks into two? And the funniest one of these is: Do you know why a previous relationship is called EX? It’s not the term for the past. EX is short for Expired!
4. For Diagnosing Medical Conditions!
What we usually hear from everyone when we are ill is, go and consult a doctor soon or let’s go to a doctor. These two statements we have always feared as kids! But now things have changed slightly. You must have seen a lot of pictures of innocent children that are put up by people for their treatments or for donation purposes (1 share and you have contributed to the cause!).

Here is an example of Deborah Copaken Kogan who posted her child’s pictures with a rash as a status on Facebook, unknowing the wonders of social media, she later on realized that this actually helped her saving the life of her kid. As soon as she posted the picture her phone started to wring and she was asked to immediately take her son to the hospital. He was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease, which is a chronic disease with severe symptoms but was treated in time and this is how Facebook helped saving a child’s life.
3. Tracking robbers and muggers

When there’s a lot going about love-hate relationships on Facebook, there are actually few people out there tracking those down who have mugged them.
As Facebook is a social site and is popular among everyone, it is assumed that whoever you are familiar or unfamiliar with, would be on Facebook. Getting mugged is nothing uncommon but actually finding out that person on Facebook is uncommon and this has actually happened!
One such example is of Daniel Kaye. He tracked two of his attackers by surfing through Facebook and found their pictures in his sister’s profile and got them sentenced for 12 years by the court. He said, “It only took me five minutes to find them.” This is the speed of Facebook. All what you need to have is a good memory, if your memory has those faces that need to be taken care of, Facebook’s memory can then create wonders.
2. To Choose the person sitting adjacent to you on a flight

Sometimes it is shocking to know how much technology advancements have taken place. Most of us have witnessed travelling in a plane with an irritating unknown person right next to you. This problem is also solved through Facebook by an airline named ‘KLM’. A service provided by this airline offered to choose the passenger beside you by initially knowing them through their Facebook profiles.
Now it depends upon you to utilize this service for match making or for easy, cozy, and comfy flights and also without irritating people sitting beside you.
1. Finding Blood and donors

Wow, now this one deserves to be number one in the count down. The reason for it being on number one is that through this advantage of Facebook someone’s life can actually be saved. Social blood formed by Karthik Naralasetty, is using Facebook at its best and is connecting people according to their blood group, so that in emergency situations it gets easier for people to find blood donors. Karthik has used Facebook for a very humanly cause and if such campaigns are initiated over the internet, most of the problems would increasingly eradicate. This is one of the oddest but one of the best uses Facebook.
As it has been much talked about, it depends upon people how responsible and creative they can be while using the internet. Some enjoy long conversations with their friends over Facebook, some enjoy posting fights with their parents, others like sharing college pictures and some are generating ideas and are utilizing the best out of the technology offered to them.
