Photographer Steve Rosenfield is trying a simple experiment: photograph people with their biggest insecurity written on their skin. This turns people inside out: instead of their emotions hidden within the person, they are legible on their skin. This displays that person's inner world in a very direct way.
We are so used to seeing people on a surface level, that it's jarring to have their biggest fears presented like this. It's an important reminder that whatever is visible on the outside, people have complex inner worlds.
