The time to begin counting how long to keep makeup begins when you open the product. Another thing to keep in mind of decreasing bacteria in cosmetics is when you are sick; do not use your products directly from the containers. Buy brushes and use them without double dipping. If you do need to then spray the brush with a disinfectant before dipping it back into the container.

Some more tips on keeping your products clean are washing your brushes once a week, cleaning sharpeners, eye lash curlers, and any other tools you frequently use. You can even clean your makeup with cosmetic sanitizers such as beautysoclean.com. Cleaning your makeup and tools is good to reduce bacteria however you should still follow the instructions on when to throw away as makeup does still expire.
