A woman by the name of Victoria Jones knocked out an intruder with her bedpost in an attempt to save herself and two children. The suspect Lucio Medina Miranda broke into Victoria’s home on January 13 shortly after 8pm. When she heard someone enter the house she had to think fast. In a panic Victoria grabbed a pack of incense but then realized she would need something a lot bigger to fight off this intruder.

She looked at her bed and grabbed the bedpost. “As I grabbed the bedpost, he was entering my room. The next thing I see he was coming towards me and I just wacked him, and I couldn’t stop.” Victoria reported. When the suspect opened the door she hit him in the head with the bedpost and he was out cold. Once she saw he was knocked out, she called 911. The police came and Miranda was hauled off to the hospital where he was treated for a broken ankle, bruises, cuts, and a swollen eye.

According to the records at Wake County magistrates office Miranda remained at the Wake county jail and was charged with first-degree burglary, breaking and entering, larceny and felony possession of stolen goods. His bail is set at $108,000.
