Here’s An Unlikely Winner Of World Cup 2014

Now here’s a lucky fan that went from cheering her team in the World Cup to modeling for a leading makeup brand.

Axelle Despiegelaere

17-year-old Axelle Despiegelaere of Belgium had no idea what fate had in store for her as she enthusiastically cheered her team at the World Cup in Brazil.

And while her team wasn’t lucky enough to stay in the competition and was sent home by Argentina in the quarterfinals, the games changed Despiegelaere's luck around.

A photo of her went viral and landed her a lucrative modeling contract with international makeup brand L'Oreal.

Imagine that- from just being a face in the millions to ‘the face’ of a leading brand. Though she has not been signed as a brand ambassador for L'Oreal Paris, she has just ended shooting a promotional video for the cosmetics company. Her Facebook page has amassed thousands of followers.

While her fame is bound to grow, with it comes the price of popularity. She has been under fire for a year-old photo of hers that has emerged showing her hunting an oryx gazelle in Africa. But that is just one aspect of it. She is young and she probably never imagined her life to be thrown in the lime light like this.

Here’s hoping she keeps her footing and succeeds in life at the same time keeping a track of her youth, not losing it sooner than nature has intended it.
