They say that a picture is worth a thousand words and the latest video made by BuzzFeedVideo does prove it. In the two minute video we are taken on a historical journey took a look at what it takes to capture some of the World’s most powerful photographs.

Accompanied with a powerful voice over the video talks about what makes a photograph great, when it gives us the chance of recalling a moment in history that we have heard or talked about. From D-Day to our very own images, ‘they all take us back and remind us of how real the world was’.

Some of the best photographs in the compilation include a man pausing at the name of his son at 9/11 memorial and John F. Kennedy Jr. saluting his father’s coffin.
