The guys from Dormtainment – a group of six comedians/rappers are back after hits such as The Washing Machine and 5 Ways to be a Bad Roommate. And they've kind of nailed it with NWA’s Straight Outta Compton video parody called Straight Outta Dunwoody, and now it's gone viral.
Dunwoody is Atlanta's most desirable suburbs and now it's part of pop culture. The Atlanta rappers rhyme about Dunwoody’s well-manicured lawns, solid brick homes, Starbucks and Fresh Foods – where no swearing is allowed.
“It was lot more positive than negative,” says Mike Anthony, 23, a member of the group. “Our thing was actually being proud of living here. If you live in a good community, don’t be ashamed of it.”
Monday, Anthony decided to call city hall and let them know about the video. He was surprised about the reaction, ‘Hi, my name is Michael, I’m from a college entertainment group called Dormtainment, and we...’ ‘We know,’ she cut me off before I was finished.”
The comedy crew put out new videos on the web each week and says that they just want to make people laugh and be happy. And they do just that with the hilarious lyrics.
