Is the Tea Party racist? The question has been asked since the Tea Party Patriots burst on the political scene, but has increased in urgency with the “hanging on a tree” comments from Rep. Andre Carson. Here’s a look at 10 Tea Party signs using racist tactics.
The Tea Party Patriots say they are not racist, but their signs of support tell a different story. It should be noted the Tea party has taken issue over racially charged signs, by hiring off-duty police officers to remove the signs, and those carrying them, from protests and rallies.
While that is a good step, there have been racist remarks from within the organization as well. Some politicians in Washington, including Rep. Andre Carson and Rep. Maxine Waters, believe the Tea Party racism is not only evident in their slogans, but in their legislative actions.
Take a look at these 10 pictures of Tea Party signs and judge for yourself.
