Sixteen people have been left homeless after a seven-alarm fire damaged multiple apartment buildings.
The fire broke out Sunday afternoon on 331 Chelsea St. in East Boston.
No one in the building was seriously hurt, but a firefighter was sent to the hospital with a minor shoulder injury.
The Red Cross is currently on scene helping the victims, some of whom have lived there for decades, and firefighters are monitoring hot spots.
The latest damage estimate is listed as $2.5 million.
There is no word on the cause of the blaze.
