21-Year-Old Student Dies After Falling Off Roof in Boston

21-year-old Justin Amorratanasuchad of Boston’s Emerson College died from injuries he sustained in a fall Sunday morning, President Jackie Liebergott told students in an email.

It’s an email that no college President wants to write. But after 21-year-old Justin Amorratanasuchad of Boston’s Emerson College died from injuries he sustained in a fall Sunday morning, President Jackie Liebergott was forced to write an email informing her students of the tragedy.

“I wish to express our deepest sympathies to all who knew and loved Justin,” Liebergott said.

According to police, Amorratanasuchad took a few steps backward and fell to the alley below.

Amorratanasuchad was vigorously working on a school project when he fell to his death from the roof of a five-story apartment building. He was announced dead at the scene and police say the death appears to be accidental.

Amorratanasuchad, who was a junior film production major from Seattle, had been filming on the rooftop when he took a few steps backwards toward the edge, and plummeted as he lost his footing. His camera, which Amorratanasuchad planned to use toward his degree and later a career, was recovered at the scene.

“From a really young age he had a camera in his hand and he was filming us goofing off at the house or making goofy little skits,” his brother Jesse told the Boston Channel.

“He's a really smart kid and it's just so hard to imagine” Jesse went on. “It's a tragedy.”
