MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Coast Guard says three people are missing after one of its helicopters crashed in Mobile Bay during a training mission.
The Press-Register reports that spokesman Lt. j.g. Timothy Williams says one person was taken to shore after the MH-65 helicopter crashed about 8:30 p.m. near Point Clear, Ala.
He says boats, helicopters and other aircraft from Alabama and Mississippi are involved in the search.
Williams said the helicopter was on a mission out of the Aviation Training Center at Mobile Regional Airport.
A message left Tuesday evening by The Associated Press for the U.S. Coast Guard was not immediately returned.
