The Republican National Committee (RNC) has threatened to not schedule any 2016 Presidential debates on NBC and CNN if those networks go forward with a plan to air a special program about former first lady, Senator and Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton. Here are 5 of replies NBC and CNN could give to the RNC:
2. Hillary Clinton is one of the most compelling figures of our times: she is one of the most politically successful women ever, someone who has dealt with personal issues very publicly, and yes, someone who might run for President. A program on her fits perfectly within our general mission of interesting digestible content for a mass audience.
3. Hillary Clinton might run for President. Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Chris Christie and Martin O’Malley are at least as likely as Clinton to enter the race. Ted Cruz, Rick Perry, Brian Schweitzer, Andrew Cuomo, Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden all have varying degrees of 2016 buzz around them. I’m sure the RNC is vigilantly checking the program of every major network to avoid programming about these individuals as well.
4. RNC, it will be a struggle for the Republican nominee to keep one toe in the political center while securing your party’s nomination. If a greater percentage of your debates are hosted by Fox News, that conservative bent will get even stronger. Do you really want that?
5. We know you’re just making a lot of anti-Hillary Clinton noise because it helps you fundraise. Go back to your echo chamber and listen to yourself whine about the liberal media.
