A Virginia woman is being hailed as a hero after she reportedly lifted a car off her father and performed CPR to save him. It was only a matter of second when her father 52-year-old Alec Kornacki went from fixing his car in the garage to being wedged underneath thousands of pounds of metal.
His life saving daughter, Lauren Kornacki, found her father pinned to the ground and unresponsive after his BMW rolled on top of him after the jack slipped.
Lauren, an experienced life guard and former basketball player knew exactly what to do. She lifted the car and shoved her body into it as hard as she could, and then she came back and dragged her father out and started CPR.
According to Lauren, thanks to the unevenness of the car due to the tire having been removed she was able to shove it hard enough to tip the car off her father and drag him out. "It flashed like, oh my God, I'm going to lose my dad," she said. "I knew I had to get his heart beating again."
Two days after the incident Alec Kornacki is still in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center.
He has several broken ribs, some numbness and other fractures, but according to Lauren her father is recovering fantastically.
