Egyptian-American activist Mona Eltahawy was arrested on Tuesday for spray-painting an anti-jihad poster in Times Square New York City subway. Mona was charged with criminal mischief and graffiti. While Mona was exercising her “freedom of expression”,a woman by the name of Pamela Hall stepped in front of the anti-jihad poster in an attempt to make Mona stop.

Egyptian-American activist Mona Eltahawy was arrested on Tuesday for spray-painting an anti-jihad poster in Times Square New York City subway. Mona was charged with criminal mischief and graffiti. While Mona was exercising her “freedom of expression”,a woman by the name of Pamela Hall stepped in front of the anti-jihad poster in an attempt to make Mona stop.

The anti-jihad subway poster reads: “In any war between the civilized man and the savage support the civilized man.” At the bottom the poster states “Support Israel.” The controversial poster was made by Pamela Geller, an activist known primarily for her “criticisms of Islam and opposition to Muslim activities and causes” according to Wikipedia.

Mona Eltahawyis an award-winning journalist based in New York. Her native country is Egypt. Eltahawy is an international public speaker with a focus on Arab and Muslim issues.

Pamela Hall is a supporter of Pamela Geller. Hall stepped in front the Pro-Israel ad and Mona Eltahawy as she was spray-painting. When Mona would not stop spray-painting, even spray-painting Pamela Hall in the face, Pamela held her stick up to Mona’s body. Then the two women began pushing each other.
