15-year-old Amanda Todd posted a YouTube video on September 7th 2012 in which she described being avictim of years of bullying.
The following text accompanied the video:
I'm struggling to stay in this world, because everything just touches me so deeply. I'm not doing this for attention. I'm doing this to be an inspiration and to show that I can be strong. I did things to myself to make pain go away, because I'd rather hurt myself then someone else. Haters are haters but please don't hate, although im sure I'll get them. I hope I can show you guys that everyone has a story, and everyones future will be bright one day, you just gotta pull through. I'm still here aren't I ?
Hardly a month later, on October 10, 2012 the teenager committed suicide by hanging herself.
Anonymous, a group of hackers and activists, who like to call themselves, hactivists has apparently tracked and exposed the man who allegedly posted the photographs and harassed Amanda.
The group has identified him to be a 32-year-old man giving out his an address, email address and other personal information. The information however is being kept a secret for legal reasons.
Below is the video released by Anonymous:
The information they gave toPastebin.com has been made public, keeping the identity of the alleged culprit hidden f course.
But using the information, CTV has tracked down a man who has cases of another sexual assault against him already. The man however, claims to know Amanda but refuses to accept that he was the man bullying her.
Despite the tip by the Anonymous, the police is still investigating the case and looking for the cyber bully.
