Santa Put Plenty Of Guns Under Americans' Christmas Trees, Despite Mass Shootings

Guns, guns everywhere. Despite the bodies piling up from mass shootings in the United States, more and more people are buying guns each year, especially as Christmas presents.

Gun sales hit a record level in December 2011, according to the FBI. With just two days before Christmas, National Instant Criminal Background Check System (aka NICS) had run around 102,222 background checks, which turned out to be the second-busiest day in history.

This year, the National Retail Federation predicted that gun sales would rise 4 percent in November and December and they did after a record 175,000 federal background checks were conducted on Black Friday alone.
