Brian Singer noticed something troubling as he commuted around the San Francisco Bay Area: several of his fellow motorists were "TWIT"-ing -- texting while in traffic.
According to the federal government, shooting off a text while behind the wheel is one of the main types of "distracted driving," which in 2011 was blamed for more than 3,300 motor-vehicle deaths. So Singer decided to do something about it. He began photographing motorists engaging in the dangerous habit, then posted the pictures online and on several billboards.
