Special envoy for the U.N. Refugee Agency, Angelina Jolie, released a statement via the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) on Friday, imploring the world to address the conditions of child refugees from Syria.
The actress and U.N. ambassador said that one million Syrian children are left without food, shelter and protection and that they were "innocent victims of a senseless conflict."
She said that thousands of children have lost their lives, and included the recent attacks near Damascus.
Jolie, who has visited refugee camps around the world, has previously said she's been deeply affected by some of the graphic tales she heard from Syrian children refugees.
