Anthony Weiner is receiving negative backlash again. The New York City mayoral candidate referred to ‘restaurant jobs’ as ‘poor people’ jobs’ in his recent statement about his city’s economy.
Weiner said, “We're creating a lot of restaurant worker jobs and poor people jobs,” Weiner said.“We have to stop that. We have to try to make this a middle class capital again.”
And this is how people reacted to the statement:
Missing the debate right now. Someone please tell me Anthony Weiner really referred to restaurant jobs as "poor people's jobs". #nyc2013— Matt Binder (@MattBinder) August 21, 2013
"Poor people jobs" hahaha, classic Weiner. Who else? What a joke. #nyc2013— Bruna Calheiros (@baunilha) August 21, 2013
Hey Anthony Weiner, I bet you couldn't even handle us restaurant workers' "poor people jobs". Good thing you were born entitled. #prick— Honest Bartender (@Bar10ding42long) August 22, 2013
Weiner's concerned about jobs because he's gonna need one in about three weeks.— Stefan Becket (@stefanjbecket) August 21, 2013
Did Weiner just say that restaurant jobs were poor people jobs? As a former hostess and waitress, I beg to differ. #nyc2013— Sophie Kleeman (@sophie_kleeman) August 21, 2013
The comment triggered criticism all over social media, bringing back the bitter memories of his ‘sexting scandal confession’ from July.
