Anzor Tsarnaev, the father of Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, was interviewed in Dagestan, Russia by Zvezda TV about his two sons. He is obviously quite upset, and doesn't believe that his sons are guilty.
"Someone framed them," Anzor Tsarnaev said through a translator. "I don't know who exactly did it, but someone did. They are cowards, they shot the boy dead. There are cops like this....I'm afraid for my other boy [Dzhokhar]. Maybe he will be shot dead too. They will say, 'Well, he had weapons.' Kids with weapons? You don't find weapons in a garbage dump! I have nothing more to say....They should arrest him, maybe, and bring him, but alive, alive. And justice should decide who is right and who is guilty.
He's right that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who is still at large, should be brought in alive and tried, if at all possible. He might, however, be shocked at how easy it is to acquire a gun in the United States. It seems that at least one of his boys did.

The interviewer mentioned that the father had spoken to his son Tamerlan just after the bombing, only a day or two before Tamerlan was killed in a shootout.

"He said everything was okay." Anzor Tsarnaev replied. "I even asked him, how's Dzhokhar?" At that point, Anzor goes off on a fatherly tangent about how he is always telling them to "study study study." It's strange and heartbreaking.

Asked if they talked about the explosion, the father said, "No, not at all.Thank Allah they were not there, and didn't suffer. I honestly can't imagine who would do this," said Anzor Tsarnaev. "Whoever did this is a bastard. I have nothing more to say.

Photo evidence shows that the above statement, about the two boys not being at the Boston Marathon is false. They were there. A CNN anchor notes at the end that the interview was as short as it was because just after, Russian security forces showed up and took Anzor away.
While all sympathy for his boys may be drained away in the coming days as more comes out about why they committed this heinous act, one can't help but feel for their father, who is reacting just like any parent would: shocked, saddened, and in disbelief.
