No one has taken Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, and now his transition as the next president of the United States, more seriously than his oldest daughter and adviser, Ivanka Trump.
The 35-year-old business executive, along with her millionaire husband Jared Kushner, holds an unusual degree of power over the president-elect – and by extension, it seems, on the presidency as well. Moreover, now that Trump is preparing for his new job, Ivanka (and her knuckleheaded brothers) are responsible for the operating the Trump Organization under the “blind trust” agreement – which her father doesn’t seem to be abiding by in the first place.
On Monday, an Argentinean journalist accused the billionaire media mogul of seeking personal favors during his congratulatory phone call with Argentine President Mauricio Macri.
“Macri called him. This still hasn’t emerged but Trump asked for them to authorize a building he’s constructing in Buenos Aires. It wasn’t just a geopolitical chat,” Jorge Lanata, one of the country’s most famous journalists, revealed during his show “Periodismo Para Todos.”
As the Telegraph reports, there are plans for a Trump-branded $100 million skyscraper in Buenos Aires, expected to start construction next year. Lanata alleged Trump asked Marci for help with the building permit.
Obviously, the Trump team vehemently denied it, but the damage was already done. The meeting exacerbated concerns if the incoming U.S. president would ever be able to separate his business with his new political powers.
Later, a representative for Macri also refuted the claims.
"They didn’t talk about the tower at all. It’s absolutely untrue,” the spokesperson claimed.
However, before things could calm down, the Argentine president revealed that Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, was also on his congratulatory call.
“I have known her since her infant days,” he said.
Although a spokesperson clarified, “He spoke with Ivanka only briefly to say hello because he met her when she was just a kid,” the episode prompted questions about Ivanka’s role in her father’s administration.

Maybe it wasn't Trump who asked Argentina for business favors because it was Ivanka, who was confirmed to have been on the call. #DirtyBizz— Mistica Bell RTR (@Crimson3Pointer) November 22, 2016

Last week, she was pictured sitting in on the very first meeting between her father and Japanese Prime Minsiter Shinzo Abe.

Before that, she made headlines for trying to advertise her $10K bracelet during Trump’s first televised interview since winning the election.

Even if Trump is not talking business with foreign leaders and investors, the fact that his company’s executive vice president, Ivanka, continues to be a major part of all these meeting, is just disconcerting.
