Superhero Cops Scale Hospital Walls To Surprise Young Patients

Kids in Children's Hospital Colorado were in for a surprise when they looked out their windows and saw Captain America waving at them.

It's not every day that Earth’s mightiest heroes appear at your window, which is why some sick children got quite a shock when they saw a gang of superheroes rappelling down the sides of their hospital.

The cape visitors turned out to be the members of Aurora Police Department’s SWAT team, who had dressed up as Batman, Spider-Man, Wolverine and Captain America to surprise young patients at Children's Hospital Colorado.

“The superheroes then got a chance to meet their little heroes as they visited children throughout the hospital,” the police department said in a Facebook post. “This is the second year APD SWAT members dressed up like superheroes at Children’s Hospital bringing smiles to everyone’s faces, even their own.”

Apparently, it all started last year when a cancer survivor named Hallie Wastell posted this idea on the Facebook page for The Bucket List Life – a website dedicated to helping others tick off life experiences. The police department saw the post and decided to surprise the kids with a visit.

While the event is said to “tremendously rewarding” for the team, it also served as a great training opportunity, as the team said they rarely get to practice rappelling from buildings that size.
