It is interesting to note here that Holmes had to appear in a court hearing for the shooting incident. However, due to his condition and hospitalization, the judge accepted a request from his attorneys to postpone the hearing.

This is the third time Holmes has attempted suicide. The first time, he stood on his bed and tried to hit his head by falling backwards. During the second attempt, he ran across his cell to hit his head on the wall. In the third attempt, Holmes hit his head on the wall.

Holmes is accused of shooting 70 people, killing 12 of them, at a midnight screening of the movie ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ on July 20. Lawyers of the 24-year-old are constantly making efforts to ensure that Holmes escapes death penalty, by being vague about his medical condition. ‘It's not as simple as a migraine,’ public defender Tamara Brady said, ‘and it's not something that will resolve itself by this morning.’ It seems likely that these repeated suicide attempts will help lawyers to extend their argument and based on his challenged mental condition.
