Ayotte resigning to explore Senate run

In a surprise announcement today, New Hampshire Attorney General Kelly Ayotte announced she is stepping down. But, she is not fading away from the political limelight. Ayotte is leaving office, effective July 17th. The Republican is leaving her job to consider a run for Senate, just four months after being reappointed by Governor John Lynch. That has Democrats bristling, but she says, the political landscape has changed in that short time.
