Big day at Glasgow!
A malfunctioning Bank of Scotland ATM made people go wild and put the police officials in Glasgow on alert over the weekend as it kept paying double the amount of the customers’ withdrawal requests! News spread far and wide and there were hoards of people lined up around the block to get some free money. Who wouldn’t? But it created a nightmare for the bank as well as the police!
The ATM located in the Burnside area of Rutherglen, on Stonelaw Road was providing twice the amount requested by customers and deducting only the amount mentioned from their accounts, until police were alerted and stood guard at the cash point.
Word of the error spread quickly on Twitter after a picture of the queue at the bank machine was posted.

The Bank of Scotland ultimately switchedoff the machine remotely after being alarmed to the priceyblunder but a spokesperson later confirmed that it will be difficult to trace all payments made during that time and it remains uncertain what action can be taken by the bank to seek any reimbursements.
Well, all we can say is that this faulty ATM truly went viral in Scotland. No one is saint enough to not enjoy the perks of a malfunctioning ATM!
Lucky ones must be out there, partying with the gifted bucks!
