During the Oscars on Sunday night, news of an alleged bomb threat at Grand Central Terminal was circulated via Twitter accounts.
According to reports, a male called 911 claiming that a bomb would explode at Grand Central Station. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority shut down the shuttle service between Time Square and Grand Central. The place was searched but nothing was found and the train service resumed shortly after 10 a.m.
Twitter, however, remained rife with posts and comments about the bomb scare during and after the subway lines were closed including one from @NYScanner, according to which the Grand Central Station had been evacuated:
