Bataclan theater, paris attacks

A five-year-old boy survived the horrifying Paris terrorist attacks last week after his mother died shielding him from the hail of gunfire.

Louis was at the Eagles of Death Metal concert with his mother Elsa Delplace, 35, and his grandmother, Patricia San Martin, 61, when the Bataclan theater carnage erupted on Nov. 13.

Louis survived the horrendous massacre when both Delplace and San Martin died after hurling themselves over Louis to protect him from the gunfire.

Louis was later found nestled in between the two bodies and covered in his mother’s blood.

"Her son Louis, her ray of sunshine, was with her. Louis was found in Vincennes hospital, distraught and covered in his mother's blood as she tried to protect him from the bullets,” Delplace’s friend Sihem Souid wrote in a tribute to Delplace in the French magazine Le Point.

From the devastating attacks, courage and strength have emerged including this heroic tale of a mother’s unwavering love in the face of terror and destruction.
