President Obama was declared the winner of the state of Florida, ekeing out a 52,000 (0.6%) win. Though it's mostly semantics at this point, Obama's victory in Florida gives him a very impressive electoral map. He failed to win Indiana, North Carolina, or any district in Nebraska (which splits its electoral votes), but otherwise his defeat of Mitt Romney is identical to his landslide victory over John McCain.
In coming elections, Democrats will look to take back North Carolina, and make inroads in Arizona, where the increasing Latino population gives them Democrats a chance to compete in that traditionally Republican state.
