The FBI has released images of the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing. There are two of them, and they are shown in several security cameras walking near each other. One wears a white backwards cap, and the other a dark cap. Both carried backpacks, supposedly holding the homemade bombs that were later placed in trash cans. It's difficult to get a good look at them, but in the video below, the FBI also provides stills of the two suspects, who, for now, they are simply calling Suspect 1 and Suspect 2.
“Today we are enlisting the public’s help to identify the two suspects,” explained Richard DesLauriers, the special agent in charge of the FBI's Boston field office. The spotting of the two suspects is the result of hours of study of surveillance video from various businesses in the area.
The FBI also announced that the two suspects were seen just outside the Forum restaurant, and they want everyone who was at the Forum restaurant on Monday, April 15th, to come forward so that they can be questioned, in case they happened to have useful intel.
It seems only a matter of time before these faces also have names. It's impressive how far the investigation has come already, but daunting to think about the task of actually capturing these two suspects. By now, they could be far away.
